Hi friends!
The news is out! In about two months I'll be jetting off to South America to explore the beautiful country of Peru. This trip has been booked since last September and since then I've been counting down the days till we set off.
I've been hinting in a few blog posts that I have been saving for a big upcoming trip and this was it! We actually got a killer deal on the airplane ticket which I'm pumped about. For the trip, I'll be joining my boyfriend's parents on a tour with about 30 other people in Cusco and we'll be ending our trip with a couple days in Lima. Our trip itinerary includes quite a bit of hiking with our last day being Machu Picchu! I'm so excited to be able to see it before they close it down to the public.
Naturally, I've been doing so much research for my upcoming trip which includes the types of food to try, what the culture is like, and of course, brushing up on my Spanish. I'm so excited to be a part of this trip and can't wait to take you all along!

MY GO-TO TRAVEL OUTFIT:
Let's take a quick second and chat about travel outfits. This trip may be my longest travel day I've had yet (20ish hours!). Comfort over everything especially if you're about to embark on a long plane ride. I know people tend to like to wear sweats or leggings to the airport, but recently I've found a good comfy pair of jeans are my bottom of choice when flying. Hear me out.
Sure leggings are great and super comfortable, but the biggest con about them is that they don't have pockets. How many times have you been running around the airport with your suitcase in hand, backpack strapped, and juggling to hold your passport, ticket, and phone all in one hand? Sure you can keep your phone in your backpack or tote, but if you're like me and are super paranoid at all times, you like to keep your phone on you and easily accessible. By wearing jeans you have the option to sneak your phone in your back pocket and any other little necessities (aka lip balm because who likes chapped lips??) on you at all times.
The next go-to article of clothing for me is a cozy pullover sweater. Airports and airplanes tend to get chilly and having a little sweater to throw on are always handy - plus you can always use it as a little pillow if you want to take a quick nap. This boyfriend pullover from Marley Lilly is definitely going to be my new go-to travel sweater. It's SO soft and the cute monogram pocket adds a nice touch. This would be such a cute little travel gift to give if you're traveling with friends/family!
Lastly, comfy shoes. This is pretty much a no-brainer, but make sure you're wearing shoes you're able to get to your connecting flight in. My white shoreline converse is a go-to shoe for me on an everyday basis, to begin with, but they're also a great travel shoe as well because they can be easily slipped on and off which makes airport security a breeze.
