Gastrointestinal issues
Milk helps you feel full and comfortable, but when you have too much of it, it can disturb digestion and can lead to gastrointestinal issues. Too much of milk can make you feel bloated, nauseous or uneasy.
Leaky-gut syndrome
If your body isn’t well-suited to milk, it could result in a ‘leaky-gut’ syndrome, which can lead to chronic fatigue and lethargy. Sometimes A1 casein protein found in dairy milk can lead to inflammation along with the gut linings and disturb microbe balance. That is the reason why A2 milk variants are recommended for people who suffer from milk allergies.
Breakouts on your face
If red acne spots or rashes occur too often on your face, check how much milk you are consuming daily. Certain chemicals present in milk can lead to inflammation. Some experts also say that having full-fat and whole milk could increase the occurrence of skin issues and breakouts. Breakouts due to excessive milk intake may be more common in women than in men.
Brittle bones and reduced density
Calcium in milk is good for building stronger bones, but having more than the required quantities can actually result in brittle bones and reduced density. One study published BMJ found that older men who drank very little milk were less likely to suffer from broken bones or inflammation than women who had it adequately.
How much milk should you drink per day?
According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, people over the age of nine can drink three cups of milk per day.
However, people who are lactose intolerant should stay away from the healthy drink altogether. An enzyme in the body called lactase breaks down lactose found in milk and is essential to its complete digestion. The deficiency of this enzyme can cause lactose intolerance.
